My Shoes Are Cute But My Dogs Will Always Be Cuter

Outfit: Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell, Vest - H&M, Cuff - Nordstrom, Turquoise Ring - Boutique,
Feather Ring - H&M

Have you guys picked up yet that I love my orange wooden heels by Jeffrey Campbell? Just in case you hadn't, I thought I'd remind you.

It's been quite rainy in California lately, but I'm hoping the weather will get warm again soon so I can wear all my vests more often! I love vests. They have the same effect as a great jacket. A vest can polish your look, change up your look and make a simple outfit look trendy. I mean when you take away my vest and shoes, essentially you have jeans and a white tee (which in itself is always a winner).

As my title mentions, there are few thing I love more than my collection of shoes. One of them happens to be my puppies. I mean, come on, they are the perfect accessory.

Missoni Scarf

Outfit: Scarf - Missoni, Boots - Cathy Jean, Leggings - H&M, Jacket - Target, Poncho - H&M, Hat - Old Navy

It has been a while since you guys have seen Chewy and I figured you needed a fix :)

As you all know I purchased several items from the Missoni for Target collection and I love every piece. Before christmas, I stumbled upon this scarf while shopping. It is not a Missoni for Target piece, it is simply Missoni, however, I absolutely fell in love with it and decided it would be my christmas present to myself.

Black and white goes with everything, but what I really love about this scarf is the way it sporadically changes from mostly black to mostly white throughout the scarf. It as if there are puddles of black and white. It is quite beautiful. I know I say this a lot but I wish you could see what I mean in person.

Its is clearly classic Missoni zig zags, but the zig zags are imperfect. This is exactly what makes it the perfect piece for me :)

Completely Casual

Outfit: Jacket - Old Navy ($25), Moccasins - H&M ($25), Shirt - Foreign Exchange ($12), Necklace - Forever 21 ($8)

While comfortability is not something I specifically search for in clothing, it is a nice bonus (I am always willing to sacrifice in the name of fashion). However, as the temperature decreases I find myself living in leggings. Luckily, I happen to love the way leggings look, so much so that I would probably wear them even if they were uncomfortable. When I am in an extra cozy mood, I immediately reach for my Foreign Exchange wishie top (I refer to dandelions as wishies). It is a beautiful color, perfect length and everyone loves a good graphic tee. Oversized graphic tees are really a closet staple and I suggest everyone invest in them. Pair them with skinny jeans, leggings, liquid leggings, skirts, blazers...the possibilities are endless.

I also predict that I will be wearing my moccasins a lot more this coming season :)

PS - After I took these pictures I was attacked by my puppies. Probably one of my favorite things.

Zanzibar

Outfit: Purple Pants - Boutique ($10), Top - Forever 21 ($15), Scarf - Forever 21 ($7)

One thing I miss about San Diego, besides my friends, the beach, the weather (okay so I could go on and on), is the countless affordable boutiques in the area. Some of my favorite days were when Naz and I would spend the day shopping and lunching at Zanzibar with our puppies in Pacific Beach. Except the one time Chewy decided to go Number 2 it the back of a boutique. Luckily, Naz had a bag in her purse and Chewy's present went undetected (besides the horrible smell). On the main road there are tons of affordable clothing and shoe stores, which I always loved shopping in because you couldn't just go anywhere and buy what these stores held.

Anyways, I found these purple pants in a store called The Closet for $10. I absolutely love the deep shade of purple they are. Because it is more of a deep color, they go with so much, almost as if they were jeans. Some people tend to stray away from colored pants, however, I think it you find deeper colors like this purple, a forest green, or deep red you may find it easier to pair clothing items with. Now, I am definitely not saying don't buy bright pants because I love those as well, but buying a deeper hue first may be a way for some people to ease into wearing colored pants.

Just a suggestion :)

Chewy Meets Lanvin

Last Fall when Lanvin collaborated with H&M, Naz and I got to the store at 5:30am only to leave the store empty handed. This was due to all the hoarders buying merchandise to resell on eBay. After a heated conversation with the store manager he let us sign up to take home items from the window display a few days later. To my luck these fabulous shoes on the mannequin were just my size! You can imagine my excitement :)

I love these shoes to death. Not only do they have the classic Lanvin chrome heel, but they are so interesting and different you can tell I didn't just walk in anywhere and swoop these up. Is the bow not gorgeous?

I wore them for the first time last year to my sorority formal with a beautiful red dress I also picked up from H&M (I'm sure you know by now, it's y second home). Here are a few pictures from that night:

My lovely boyfriend of almost 5 years, Ryan.

Some of my best friends (minus a few Royal Diamonds, you know who you are).
How I miss them so :(

My beautiful Little, Kelly.

Posting about these shoes, I just couldn't help but share with you all these photos from such a great night. If you are in college and you are reading this: Enjoy your time because you will miss it dearly :)

Ain't No Other Man

Photo Courtesy: Andrew Arnold Photography (andrewarnold.net)

Please don't be distracted by how cute Chewy is...I know I always am :)

Recently, I had an interview and besides the jittery nervousness, my next worry is what to wear. In the past five years it has been my observation that the business world (for the most part) has gotten a lot more casual. A less suits and more separates kind of business casual. Now, I am definitely not saying you show up to work or an interview in jeans. However, choosing to wear a blazer and knit pants (like the LC ones below) is an appropriate alternative to dress pants and a matching blazer.

Because it is still very warm in the Bay Area, I opted for one of my favorite skirts from H&M, a Champagne crop top and a pop of color with an orange gem necklace. I love this skirt because the length is still appropriate without being a pencil skirt to my knees. It also has the ability to be paired with flats for a more casual look, however still an another appropriate office outfit.

I felt so great after my interview I took Chewy to a park after to run around. He told me he's sure I did great in my interview :)

Chewy Walking Moccasins

When I take Chewy for a walk, in actuality, he tends to walk me.

I have been liking moccasins for a while now, but I wanted a very specific type, ankle ones to be exact. So, when I finally found these at H&M it took me all of 2 seconds to grab them up and take them to register.

I wanted these ankle ones for a couple reasons. First, I love the way the height looks with skinny jeans and leggings. Second, with that added height comes room for a few added details, like the fringe around the ankle. Lastly, rather than just a flat, these moccasins lace up the front which I believe separates them from moccasins you usually see in stores.

I can't wait until it starts getting a little cooler outside so I can wear these moccasins with some leggings, oversized tees and jewelry. For now, I'm really liking moccasins with my jean shorts.

If you are looking for some moccasins at the right price try these:

1. H&M - $24.95
2. J Crew - $30
3. DSW - $40
