Versace Skirt

Photos by Andrew Arnold

Outfit: Skirt - Versace for H&M ($130), Heels - Jessica Simpson ($20), Necklace - H&M ($18)

The moment the lookbook for the Versace collaboration with H&M was released, I knew I would be buying this silk studded skirt. The pictures are amazing, however, I wish you could see this skirt in person because the way it sparkles and moves is absolutely stunning. I have a few skirts with this shape, but there is something about the way this skirt flows is different. It may be the combination of the silk and the weight of the studs. No matter what it is I love it. So far, I have only worn this skirt with solid black, but I can't wait to try it with other combinations. I think it will be one of those pieces will go with many more tops than I thought.

Speaking of collaborations, Jason Wu for Target is about to be released on February 5. Images from the collection have been released on the internet and I am getting very excited. Everything is under $60 and it could not be cuter! I am in love with the navy dress and flower satchel.

Are you lusting after this collection, too?

Never Say Never - Poncho

Outfit: Poncho - Forever 21 ($20), Clogs - Target ($12), Skirt - Forever 21 ($18)

If you had asked me in high school if I would EVER buy a poncho, I would have replied a horrified, "No!". But yet, here I am in my recently purchased lace and fringe poncho from Forever 21. Now to be fair, in high school the ponchos that were popular in 2005 -2006 were more of a knit wool style, rather than the lace or poncho tops that are popular now. Nevertheless, I was admittedly against ponchos.

Let me tell you why I love them now. First, ponchos lay beautifully against the body. I particularly love this one because it is lace, which means you can see some skin underneath and that makes it a little bit sexy. I also love a ponchos' versatility. In these photos I have tucked the front end of the poncho in my skirt for a more dressed up look. But, I have recently worn this poncho over distressed jean shorts for more of a 70's appeal.

So while you still may not find me in a knitted wool poncho, I will never say never when it comes to fashion anymore. You really never know what you will love as you mature, and just as you grow so does the fashion around you.

Happy Shopping Loves :)
