Favorite Christmas Gift

Outfit: Jacket - Chicwish, Boots - Jeffrey Campbell Taupe Litas, Jeans - Joe's

Ryan gave me this jacket for Christmas this year. Can you say, "best present ever?" How did he know to get me this jacket from Chicwish? Just a few subtle hints ;-)

I had seen this jacket worn by a few people on LookBook and I had been lusting over it forever, but during the holidays it's hard to justify a purchase like this. That is why I couldn't have been happier when I opened it up Christmas morning. It's such a striking jacket. Whenever I wear this coat, I get so many compliments. I think the large plaid print combined with oversized lapels and shape help to make it an effortless piece. Not to mention how cozy it is!

PS - My second best present were my taupe suede Litas :-)

BOGO

Photos by: Andrew Arnold
Outfit: Jacket - H&M ($15), Bunny Top - Forever 21 ($7), Litas - Jeffrey Campbell ($165)

Happy 2012 everyone!

I took a slight holiday break from the blog while Ryan was in town, but now The Fleur de Fashion is back in full force for whatever 2012 will bring. For my first post of the new year I wanted to show you guys one of my favorite new tops. I got it on Forever 21 online a few weeks ago when they were having a special sale.

Often times F21 will have great BOGO (buy one get one) deals that only last a few days! Sometimes great deals like this only apply to not-so-cute clothing items. However, F21 has some amazing pieces as a part their BOGO deal. I bought this this top and a faux leather vest for $15 during this flash sale. I mean, it really doesn't get any better than that!

I love the bunny graphic on this top. It's a kind of distorted drawing, which reminds me of Alice and Wonderland. I paired it with my military jacket from H&M and I actual really like the pairing together. It seems unconventional, but it just works. I find this happens to me a lot when searching through my closet. Part of the fun of fashion is pairing things you never thought you'd wear together.

Well I better go start my project for the day - reorganizing my closet. I haven't been able to put away any of my new clothes from Christmas because I have absolutely no room! I have a full closet, a full garment rack and full drawers. My solution? I just bought a garment closet from Target yesterday that I have to build and will place in the hallway. Hey, whatever works right?

It's Christmas In Cali

Photos by: Andrew Arnold

Outfit: "Ugly" Sweater - Thrifted by Danielle Pavlecic ($4), Jacket - H&M ($30), Boots - Jeffrey Campbell Litas ($165)

Anyone who knows me personally, knows I am obsessed with the Christmas season! I listen to Christmas music on the radio, watch Christmas movies over and over again (sometimes four times in one day) and can not stop buying festive clothing.  I will have to take a picture of our gigantic Christmas tree for you guys tomorrow. It is breath-taking! Our tree is covered top to bottom with ornaments, there is probably only one or two branches free for decoration. The special part is that almost all our ornaments have special meaning. My Mom and I collect them from places we visit and such.

Anyways, on to the clothes! I attended an Ugly Sweater party at a friends house recently and didn't have time to stop by a thrift store and find one for myself, so I told my very good friend Danielle to pick me up one on her trip out. Danielle got a little excited shopping and ended up with not two for us, but four "ugly" sweaters. When I met up with her and saw this one, I not only decided to wear it but I actually thought it was really cute (so did Danielle) :)

So I worked it into my wardrobe and have been wearing it quite a bit!

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you get all you ask for and more!

Love you all!

The Eiffel Tower and Me

Outfit: Top - Forever 21($15), Skirt - Forever 21 ($14), Socks - Forever 21 ($3), Boots - Cathy Jean ($100)

If you know me personally, then you know very well that I have a little obsession with anything and everything dealing with the Eiffel Tower. Ever since I was a young girl, I have been so infatuated with its structure, beauty and the sense of romance the Eiffel Tower encompasses. Walking into my room, this is an easily observable fact. So naturally, when I came across this sweater I  had to have it.

It is an added bonus that I am completely in love with this crew neck, sweatshirt style of top. Its so comfy, yet with some added accessories, completely chic. Luckily California, tends to have a mild winter  so I was able to pair this sweater with a bright red skirt and socks to stay comfortable.

Another cool element this sweater contains (that may not be noticeable at first) is that it actually has shoulder pads. Clearly, they are not outrageous or huge, but I do believe they make a slight difference to how the garment fits and falls. The shoulder pads  are just one more element that make this sweater unique.

PS - I know this is the season of giving, however, retail stores have been having amazing deals and sales all month. So while you are out shopping for others, treat yourself to a little something also. The season of giving doesn't exclude giving to yourself, right?

Follow on Facebook, where I will be posting all the sales I happen to come across :)
