Blush and Yellow

Outfit: Dress - Jason Wu for Target, Boots - Bebe, Purse - Louis Vuitton, Necklace - F21, Ring - Gift

Ryan has been keeping me distracted in Salt Lake City, but I am able to squeeze in this post today. I am so sad to be leaving tomorrow :-(

Well, this is the last of my Jason Wu purchases. When I went to Target that morning I had absolutely no intention of purchasing this dress. I fell in love with it on, though. I just can't get over the sleeves and collar. I just think they are so cute! Plus, I think this dress is so versatile for casual or business attire. When deciding whether or not I should get this dress with a friend, we both examined the detail of the pleats, the pattern, the delicate scalloped lace and decided it was rare that you find a dress with such beautiful embellishments.

When I am ever caught in a dilemma such as this, it always boils down to details...

Pushing Daisies

Outfit: Purse - Jason Wu for Target; Silver Oxfords - Jessica Simpson, Top - TJ MAXX, Necklace - F21

Do you guys remember that show, Pushing Daisies? I loved it. The fantasy, fairytale aspect of it hooked me instantly. Really anything that reminds me of fairytales catches my attention easily.

Wearing this purse has me lusting for hot summer days. The kind of day where your skin is tan, your hair is messy and all you do for the entire day is lay out and take breaks to eat. It's ironic that I so longed for cool days when the air was hot and now I can't wait for a blazing hot day. It's also a bit funny that I am in Utah as I write this and there is snow on the ground. And I do love the snow. I guess I'm a little indecisive. But I think thats okay :)

I think I am also ready to get out of my boots, because I have been wearing my silver oxfords a lot lately. Such a simple outfit with fun accessories. I love outfits like these.

Fishtail Skirt

Outfit: Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell Litas, Fishtail Skirt - Forever 21, Top - H&M, Belt - Forever 21

It took me a loooonnggg time to find the perfect fishtail skirt. I mean, seriously, I have tried on countless and just haven't found one that works. Plus, I really wanted it to be black. One day, on a visit to F21 I found this skirt but it was in a nude color. It fit perfect and, although it wasn't black, it fit just how I wanted.

(NOTE: Be nice to sales associates, they will help you in your time of need.)

As I was paying for my items, chatting up with the F21 employee, I mentioned I had really been look for a black fishtail skirt. She looked up, told me to wait one second, and returned from the stock room with a box full of my skirt in black. She told me that it just came in today and pulled out my size.

This skirt is perfect I've been wearing it with black opaque tights lately and I just love the way the tail flows behind me. For those of you still in search of the perfect fishtail skirt, don't give up. Your skirt is out there somewhere ;-)

Spikery Binx Scarf

Outfit: Scarf - Jason Wu for Target, Shoes - Deena and Ozzy, Jacket - Versace for H&M

Greeting for snowy Salt Lake City everyone!

I am so excited because I will be spending the next two weeks with Ryan celebrating Valentine's Day and our five year anniversary. I am just getting over a sickness so the blogs have been scarce, but I am finally feeling better and back at it.

The cat scarf I am wearing is another little treasure I picked up at Target from the Jason Wu collection. Can you believe they only held three in the entire store? I love square scarves like this that you wear in an upside down pyramid around your neck. It's a fun shape and these scarves tend to be more versatile from fall to winter to spring because they are made of a lighter material. I own several scarves with this shape.

In an attempt to not buy any new clothing while I am here, I completely overpacked. I'm not exaggerating when I say my suitcases are completely stuffed. We will see how well this works out :)

Well Done Jason Wu

Outfit: Dress - Jason Wu for Target, Necklace - Tiffany, Pumps - Jessica Simpson, Socks - F21,
Belt - Nordstrom

I told you yesterday about my adventure at Target for Jason Wu. I knew the second I saw a preview of the collection including this dress that I NEEDED it. And not just like "oh, it'd be nice to have", but "I cannot live without this dress!" You know that feeling you get when you zip up a dress and just know it fits absolutely perfect? That feeling came with this dress. I am completely and utterly obsessed.

Jason Wu knows so well how to design dresses that will fit a women's body flawlessly. Not to mention that this dress is such a classic design, I am confident I will own it forever.

I also want to mention, that before this outift I held a very strict no black and navy blue rule. It seems Jason Wu has swayed me (just a little), because I loved the way the Lookbook paired this dress with a skinny black belt. You won't see me in navy pants and a black sweater anytime soon, but I guess it's all  about baby steps, right?

How do you guys feel about black and navy blue?

Jason Wu for Target and the 70's

Outfit: Sweater - Free People, Boots - Ecote, Headband - H&M, Watch - Michael Kors

Another day, another dollar (spent that is). Jason Wu for Target was released today . If you aren't familiar with Jason Wu, he designs many dresses worn by our First Lady, Michelle Obama. He knows a women's body extremely well, which is well displayed in the line he did exclusively for Target. I arrived at 6:30am this morning to Target and was so happy to be the first in line.

If there is one thing I have learned from standing in line for exclusive clothing lines it's this: the few people either in front of you or in back of you in line are your friends NOT your enemies. I immediately made friends with the five people who trickled in behind me. We shared the items we had to have (and our sizes) and made a game plan on which items we were all going to grab. After the initial rush we met up and divided up our sizes and items we wanted. It worked flawlessly. As it did when Naz and I were at Versace also.

I can't wait to take pictures and share with you all what I got. Make sure to "LIKE" my Facebook page to see a preview.

I love this outfit I posted. I have so much fun taking the fashion of other eras and putting a slightly modern twist on them. In fashion, it's not always about looking to the future for inspiration, but also looking back into the past. Just some food for thought :)

Favorite Christmas Gift

Outfit: Jacket - Chicwish, Boots - Jeffrey Campbell Taupe Litas, Jeans - Joe's

Ryan gave me this jacket for Christmas this year. Can you say, "best present ever?" How did he know to get me this jacket from Chicwish? Just a few subtle hints ;-)

I had seen this jacket worn by a few people on LookBook and I had been lusting over it forever, but during the holidays it's hard to justify a purchase like this. That is why I couldn't have been happier when I opened it up Christmas morning. It's such a striking jacket. Whenever I wear this coat, I get so many compliments. I think the large plaid print combined with oversized lapels and shape help to make it an effortless piece. Not to mention how cozy it is!

PS - My second best present were my taupe suede Litas :-)

Just Buy It Already

Outfit: Top - H&M, Shoes - Target, Jeans - Joe's Jeans

Have you ever gone into a store and lusted after a particular piece of clothing, but for one reason or another didn't buy it? This happens to me all the time (surprisingly, I don't buy everything I like). Sometimes, you might go back to the store a couple times and still not buy it. THEN all of the sudden you are sitting at home and decide you need it. So you rush down to the store, frantic because you've convinced yourself the item is sold out.

Ahhh, but then there is that glorious moment when you get to the store and find your item hanging beautifully on the rack, as if it is under a spotlight. It may very well be one of the greatest feelings of relief I have felt to date.

I did this with not one, but two, items in this outfit. How beautiful is this lace top? Every time I went into H&M I knew I wanted it.  I mean, the lace, the buttons, the shape, it's prefect! It happens to be one of the few items that photographs just as beautiful as it is in person. I'm obsessed with the button down back. It's always nice to find a top that is just as cute in the back as it is in the front.

Loafers are huge right now, and I had been seeing these shoes there since Christmas in both black and pink. Well about two weeks ago I buckled and not only bought the pink, but the black also.

Hey, I needed them ;-)
