Snow Panda

Outfit: Hat - Gift from Ryan, Boots - Soda ($30), Scarf - H&M ($12), Jacket - Express ($150), White Blouse - Forever 21 ($15)

My favorite place to visit when I come to Utah is Park City. Yesterday Ryan and I got some Christmas shopping done at the outlets and then went to Olympic Museum that sits right in front of the HUGE Olympic Ski Jump. I can't believe people actually fly down that jump and survive, it's absolutely incredible. I didn't understand this until I actually had the pleasure of seeing the jump in person.

During my life I haven't really ventured that much into the snow, thus I own virtually no snow appropriate clothes. However, if I am being honest I don't believe you need to wear massive puffy coats and snow boots in order to stay warm. I mean, it snows in NYC and you still people walking around in high heels. So I opted for my trusty leather jacket and military boots accompanied by my fox scarf and (too cute for words) panda hat. Ryan got me this hat as a gift about a month ago and mailed it me. He chose a panda because one of my greatest weaknesses, besides shopping, is Panda Express.

Animal hats are everywhere right now. They are so much fun and if there is a point in my life that I can get away with wearing a cute panda on my head, you better believe I am going to take advantage of it. My favorite part about my panda hat is the nose. In the photos above that contain my profile you can see that the nose is three-dimensional and actually protrudes out from the hat. I have yet to find another animal hat with this quality. Ryan did well, as always.

How beautiful is this snowy hillside?

Faux Leather Pants

 Outfit: Faux Leather Pants - Forever 21 ($20), Boots - Jeffery Campbell ($165), Sweater - H&M ($18), Scarf - H&M ($7)

I bought these leather pants at Forever 21 a year ago and have worn them only once. Well, you all know how I feel about not giving my clothes enough attention so I pulled these out and decided to wear them yesterday. Once again, I fell in love with them. The details are my favorite part about them. Leather pants become to much more interesting with a few added details such as the seams along the knees and zippers at the ankle.

I am still recovering from my stressful all-nighter this weekend at Versace for H&M, but I promise to post all my goodies tonight. Also, be sure to "like" The Fleur de Fashion on Facebook for all the latest Black Friday sales (both online and in stores). Must head for out for Thanksgiving grocery shopping.

Versace for H&M

Today is the day guys! I start my 18 hour camp out in front of H&M to scoop up the very limited Versace goods. Please make sure you are following me on both Facebook and Twitter, as I will be posting updates on the project I am calling, "Occupy H&M" with none other than, Naz Isik.

Wish me luck!

I Love My...Leopard Sweater

Outfit: Sweater - H&M ($15), Boots - Steve Madden ($40), Skirt - American Eagle - ($30)

I don't know if you guys have noticed yet, but I'm kind of a sucker for anything and everything leopard. I think it stems back to my Step-mom, Mary Lou's, abundant collection of leopard apparel. It's a good thing I love leopard so much because it is a print that has been in style for years and I am fairly positive it will be chic for hundreds of years to come. So basically, I see all my leopard pieces as an investment.

I bought this leopard sweater at H&M last winter on sale for $15 and while I LOVE the big, bold leopard print, it's an added bonus that the fit is perfect. I also love the way my cowboy booties go with them. You wouldn't normally except to pair cowboy boots with a leopard print, but works somehow. And I am all for interesting, yet chic, combinations.

How many of you guys are camping out for Versace at H&M tomorrow? Naz and I will be first in line if it is the last thing we do! We wouldn't want a repeat of the Lanvin fiasco last year...

The Maxi Every Girl Should Own

Outfit: Boots - Jeffrey Campbell Litas ($165), Dress - H&M ($7), Crop Top - H&M ($7)

Okay so you guys are already aware that I am a self proclaimed maxi dress lover. Well, I have found one maxi I think every girl should own. Put as simple as the dress is: a black, thin, razor back maxi dress. I had been searching for a dress like this for a while when I walked into H&M and found this one on sale for $7! This may be one of my best finds yet.

So why is this dress a must have? Well, a few reasons. First, I had been looking for a simple maxi to wear into winter with cropped sweaters (I just love the way cropped tops look over maxi dresses). On this day I wore the dress with a cropped t-shirt because it was warmer outside, however, I can't wait to show you how cute it looks with a sweater, scarf, necklaces and boots! Such a refreshing Winter look compared to the traditional pants we get stuck into wearing. I also wanted a thin maxi like this so I could tie up the bottom for a unique look. This dress achieves my image beautifully.

All in all, I have wearing this dress countless ways. It is $7 that has yet to fail me. Im completely obsessed :)

Even When It's Not Fitted

Outfit: Dress - Forever 21 ($20), Pumps - Jessica Simpson ($20)

Sometimes the lack of shape in a dress is the very thing that makes the dress unique and beautiful. I found this dress about a year ago at Forever 21 and was instantly taken with the neckline. A simple black dress can change completely with detail. This dress has sort of a bib around the neck with a large bow laid on top. That combined with the feminine sleeves makes this dress unlike anything I own and anything I have seen since I have purchased it. I also love how this dress isn't fitted, rather, it the pleats around the bib help to let the dress fall beautifully along the bottom.

You may sometimes see dresses with this complete A-line shape and may worry that the shape can be unflattering. However, I encourage you all to not let that stop you from trying it on. If the dress isn't made correctly, yes, the result may not be flattering. BUT if it is made correctly, I suspect you will love the result. Additionally, if you have an event coming up requiring a LBD you will find that in a sea of tight mini dresses the best way to stand out is to walk in in a cute, girly A-line number.

PS - Isn't this dress strikingly familiar to the drawing in my header?

Thigh High Leg Warmers

Outfit: Coat - Forever 21 ($30), Skirt - H&M ($25), Leg Warmers - H&M ($10), Lita Boot - Jeffrey Campbell ($165)

Over the knee anything are popular this season in a big way! Whether they are socks, boots or even leg warmers. I bought these leg warmers at H&M when I was actually looking for over the knee socks, however, I noticed a mannequin wearing these over her boots and was absolutely taken with this slight change from a traditional sock. Over the knee socks, boots or leg warmers are a great alternative to tights and leggings when trying to stay warm this Winter in skirts and dresses.

I also want to point out how one great jacket (buttoned up) can make an entire outfit. I love this military inspired coat because it has a dress-like appeal when buttoned up. In this outfit I paired it with a skirt, but whenever I'm unsure of what to wear and in a rush I can throw this jacket on with leggings and boots for an effortlessly chic look. My point? Go out and find yourself a statement jacket with some length to it. A great coat can instantly give you style :)

I Love My...Plaid Flannel

Outfit: Flannel - Forever 21($18), Shorts - Forever 21 ($20), Boots - Soda ($30), Graphic Tee - H&M ($15)

Something I think every girl should own: an oversized flannel button-up. I bought this top at Forever 21 last Fall for about $18 and with the amount of times I've worn it, it probably comes out to a penny a wear. The different possibilities to wear this flannel are endless. The way Bubba from Forrest Gump feels about shrimp is the way I feel about this top. You can wear it with shorts, a graphic tee, leggings, jeans, skirts, dresses, with heels, with sneakers, with combat boots...well you get the picture.

Now that the weather is getting cool, I am sure stores are stocking up on this style of top.  So get yourself over to the mall and buy one! You won't be sorry, I promise :)

Don't Tuck Away Summer Dresses

Outfit: Dress - Francesca's Collections ($11.99), Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell ($165), Blazer - Forever 21 ($20)

Hello Everyone!

I am so happy to be tending to my little blog again. It has been a hectic week, but my priority is back to The Fleur de Fashion. One thing I think happened this back week is that the weather finally decided to get cool and stay cool. As happy as I am about this, everyday I look at my closet with the feeling that I have absolutely nothing to wear. This is not a good feeling. Especially since last year during Fall and Winter Naz and I frequented the mall more than we did anything else. Where did all my clothes go?

I bought this dress during warmer weather because I loved the print. It is a sleeveless dress, but paired with tights and a blazer, it was completely appropriate for the cold weather. Maybe that is the key to feeling like I have more clothes; reinventing my Summer dresses. I encourage you all to look in you closet for items you normally wear during the Summer and style them into a Winter piece.

Let me know how it goes!
