How My Scarf Got Its Groove Back

Outfit: Scarf - Pacific Beach Boutique ($8), Poncho - H&M ($20), Socks - Marshalls ($6), Boots - Cathy Jean ($100)

I love wearing scarves year round because they can always be that added element that can finish out any outfit. I also find it entertaining to discover new ways to tie or wear the many scarves in my collection. I picked this tribal scarf up in San Diego at a boutique near the beach. When I tried it on in the store I threw it around my neck (like in the first picture) and I loved how full it was for not being a knitted scarf.

The other day it was cooler out than I expected so I took my scarf and covered my arms like a shawl. When I looked in the mirror I was delighted at the effect it gave. It looked like another piece of clothing rather than a scarf. Almost as if it was a lightweight, billow sleeved, open top. It completely changed the look of my scarf, to the point a few people came up asking me what exactly it was and where I purchased it.

I find it so exciting to discover new ways of wearing clothing that you already own. It's also quite nice on your wallet :)
